Course Overview
An arc flash event releases intense heat, light, and pressure in a fraction of a second — often with no warning and little time to react — making awareness and correct boundary recognition essential for anyone working near or around energized electrical equipment. In industrial, commercial, and utility environments across the Middle East, where electrical panels and switchgear are routinely accessed for operation and maintenance, basic arc flash awareness is a critical safeguard against severe burn injury.
This training course is designed to build foundational arc flash awareness for personnel who work near or around energized electrical equipment. The course is aligned with NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace and IEEE 1584: Guide for Performing Arc-Flash Hazard Calculations, which establish the framework for arc flash hazard identification and safe work practice. Participants will learn to recognize arc flash hazards, interpret arc flash labels and boundaries, apply appropriate personal protective equipment principles, and understand safe approach distances around energized equipment.

Common causes of arc flash events including (equipment failure, dropped tools, and moisture ingress)
Factors influencing arc flash severity including (available fault current and clearing time)
