Course Overview
Uncontrolled work authorization is one of the most consistent contributing factors behind serious workplace incidents — tasks started without proper hazard identification, unclear responsibility between departments, or breakdowns in communication between permit issuers and workers on site. In high-risk operational environments across the Middle East, where multiple contractors, shift changes, and simultaneous operations are common, a structured Permit to Work system is not an administrative formality — it is a critical control mechanism for preventing serious incidents.
This training course is designed to build practical competency in the Permit to Work (PTW) process for personnel involved in issuing, authorizing, and executing permitted work. The course is aligned with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147: The Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) and ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems — Requirements with Guidance for Use, which establish the framework for hazardous energy control and structured safety management.
