Course Overview
Warehouses combine constant material movement, mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and stacked storage under time pressure — a combination that makes them one of the more incident-prone environments in everyday operations. In logistics, retail, and industrial facilities across the Middle East, where warehouse throughput and shift intensity are often high, a solid grasp of warehouse fundamentals is essential for personnel to work efficiently without compromising safety.
This training course is designed to build practical foundational competency in warehouse operations for personnel involved in storage, material handling, and day-to-day warehouse activities. The course is aligned with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.176: Handling Materials — General and ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems — Requirements with Guidance for Use, which establish the framework for safe material handling and structured workplace safety management. Participants will learn to apply safe storage and stacking practices, recognize warehouse-specific hazards, follow safe material handling techniques, and understand basic inventory and traffic management principles.

Applicable standards and regulatory requirements including (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.176, ISO 45001, and local warehousing regulations)
Roles and responsibilities within warehouse operations including (warehouse staff, supervisors, and safety officers)
Overview of common warehouse incidents and their primary causes including (falling stock, forklift collisions, and manual handling injuries)
2. Storage and Racking Systems
Racking system types and safe use including (selective racking, pallet racking, and shelving units)
Load capacity and weight distribution principles for storage racking
Safe stacking practices including (stability, height limits, and load securing)
Identifying racking damage and instability indicators including (bent frames, missing safety pins, and overloading signs)
3. Material Handling Equipment Awareness
