This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand, plan, and implement Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs in accordance with API 580, API 581, and DNV recommended practices. By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Comprehend the principles, terminology, and methodology of RBI as outlined in API 580 and API 581 standards.

  • Apply risk assessment techniques to identify, analyze, and evaluate equipment integrity risks in oil, gas, and process industries.

  • Integrate probability of failure (PoF) and consequence of failure (CoF) analyses into inspection planning.

  • Utilize DNV RBI guidelines to complement API approaches and enhance inspection optimization strategies.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain RBI programs to extend equipment life, improve safety, ensure compliance, and reduce maintenance costs.

Course Outline

1. First part:

The exercise will give Delegates the opportunity to key elements for implementation of an RBI system to a refining/production facility.  The Course presenters are independent of any commercial organization and the Course Notes are applicable to all commercially available systems.  No software will be used in this course.
